“An Expedition Through History”

Auto World Museum

At Our New Home

Text Box: The all new Auto World Museum features Mr. William E. Backer’s vintage automobile Collection and reflects his and his daughter’s, Vicki Backer McDaniel’s vision. A "home grown" engineer, Bill is a highly successful local manufacturer, businessman, and automobile collector. Bill spent his life collecting the amazing cars he loves. He has now entrusted this remarkable collection to our foundation to insure these automotive treasures are
preserved and available for all to see.

Located in historic Fulton, the heart

of Callaway County and Missouri and situated just seven miles south of the junction of Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 54, at the highway HH exit, Auto World is an 18,000 square foot facility which houses the foundations collection.

In addition to vintage cars, Auto World contains exhibits  collections of memorabilia and attractions depicting the

history surrounding the automobile, here in Missouri.

There is something of interest for everyone at Auto World Museum!

1934 Model 40 Ford V8 Roadster

Text Box: A letter sent by Clyde Barrow
to Henry Ford in April, 1934 said:

Dear Sir:
While I still have breath in my lungs I will tell you what a dandy car you make. I have drove exclusively when I could get away with one. For sustained speed and freedom from trouble the Ford has got every other car skinned and even if my business hasn’t been strictly legal it don’t hurt anything to tell you what a dandy car you got in the Ford V-8.

Yours truly,
Clyde Champion Barrow
